301 Redirect with Mod-Rewrite Disabled

    Hello guys,

    I need to redirect a page from sitea.it/oldpage.html to sitea.it/newpage.htm .

The site is hosted on a Linux server with apache installed, BUT mod-rewrite module is disabled and my hosting company doesn't want to enable it.

Except changing the hosting company, anyone can recommend me a seo friendly way to do a 301 permanent redirect with mod-rewrite disabled?

Would this way be as good as the .htaccess one?

    Thank you.

Is it on cpanel? Is so, see if they allow you to set up a 301 through cpanel.

Other than that, there isn't a way that's as good as through .htaccess.

    Thank you for your reply.

    No, they don't allow that.

All other types of redirects, including anything in php, are going to be detrimental to your SEO efforts.

I contacted the support and they told me how I should fix.

I'm going to send you a PM with their answer.

Let me know if you think it's good or not.

    Thank you
