301 redirect towards website root

    Hello,
I would like to make a 301 redirection towards the root of my website for some internal pages that have been moved or some that exist virtually because of mispelled external links pointing to my website.

At the root, I have an index.html.en and an index.html.fr files

    Should I redirect to:
    centreurope.org/
    or to
    centreurope.org/index.html
    or
it doesn't matter, it is the same.

    Thanks,
    David

    Redirect to centreurope.org

It looks like you're distinguishing between the english and french pages internally, so I'd go with centreurope.org

    Cheers,

    JL

I think it is best to redirect to centreurope.org so the root gets the PR if you really care about PR rather than the individual .html page.

Also, you never know when or if you want to switch to php/htm etc. It may never happen - but like they say never say never.
