301 Redirect to pass on PR and help SERP?

    Hello,
I have a question for all the experts. I recently found 2 websites in my niche that are no longer being used, and that will become available in the next 6 months. One has a PR3 and one has a PR4. My questions is, would it help my SERP to buy these two domains, and then do a 301 Redirect to my main domain to get credit for there backlinks? Does that work?

    Thanks.

Yes and No, depends if they backlinks exist after you purchasre the domain names. A 301 redirect does pass over Pagerank and link value "if" they exist.

Ssandecki is correct. There are many greate sites out there with many links. But once you buy them, the links go away. Check if the links are from a common source (like DP Sigs). These can be transfered.

What you should look for is totally randomized sites. This might be good for PR, but the Link Text will not help you.
