301 redirect not working on yahoo?

    my site is indexed without www on yahoo,and i am looking to get it indexed with www and not with non www as long all my back links are going to www version of my site.
    i added a 301 redirect non www redirect to www version,but my site still indexed without www.is there another way than 301 redirect for yahoo to get my site indexed with www?
