has any one here done a 301 redirect that has had good traffic and competitive rankings like around 500 uniques + a day? If so how long did it take your rankings to appear back to normal doing a 301?
I my experience you need at least one or two full updates before all the PR is carried over and all backlinks scored to the new one. So if you had the 301 done before the last update, you'll need to wait till the next one for the scoring to complete. Peace!
I haven't done the 301 redirect but I have observed/read that 301 will take almost a month or 2 to pass all of it's juice to the new site. Goodluck
I agree. I helped transition a 1000+ page site, and it took 2 PR cycles for all of the PR to start showing up on the toolbar. However, SERPs were NOT affected. Morty
tdd was up top for a certain term and fell out in the midst of the 301 and recent update. He is hoping once everything cycles it will put him back up The beauty with search engines and websites is no two issues are exactly the same, so hopefully he will find what hes looking for, and if not he should know how to strengthen any weaknesses. Peace!
Good thing about 301 redirect that it is the most clean way of moving websites from one domain to another without incurring many losses. PR transfers quickly, but what is most important, your SERPs transfer as well. I experienced positive results almost within next week after setting it up.
everythink will be transgfer to the new domain with 301 redirect . it may take up 6 months according to the power of your backlinks
