    How long does it usually take for a re-directed URL to stop appearing in Google SERPs, and the new URL to take its place?

    that depents on the backlink power but it may take from 1 month to 6 months

    it's a site move. The company underwent a big re-branding campaign and moved a very old link to a brand new one.

    you any way wont lose much as you are redirecting old url to new one.
    Just try to get some new backlinks to this new url.
