I currently have a PR 4 MySpace blog and I have another unused PR 3 domain name. If I wanted to to make a 301 redirect from the PR 3 Domain to the PR 4 domain, will my PR 4 domain drop PageRank in the next update?

I definitely know that the PageRank will not increase to Pr 7 :p But I don't know whether it will lower my current PR 4 status.

Also, I've been also thinking whether I shiuld just point the PR 3 domain to my current PR 4 blog's sitemap.xml file.

Any comments or suggestions are very well appreciated :D

No a 301 redirect will not effect PR. To be clear PR is ONLY a measure of the backlinks to your site. If 301 redirects dropped PR or site ranking I would do it to my competitors.

lol...I just realized that it's a really silly question to ask in the first place:eek:

One more question, if I redirect the PR 3 domain to my other sites sitemap.xml file (http://www.anothersite.com/sitemap.xml)...in the next pagerank update, is there a possibility of the sitemap.xml page will have a PR 3?

I think that it was a black hat method, where in u point to a High PR domain & after Google updates u get the PR of the page u pointed to, But that again gets detected as fake pagerank.

Please correct me If I am wrong.

not really black hat, but is just a way that some unscrupulous people scammed newbies that didn't know better

lol :p I was thinking to make my other sites sitemap.xml file a PR 3 and then the link juice will spread to all my posts...I've heard people have used this technique before but I'm not sure whether they succeeded or not.

If you're going to redirect to a sitemap, you should create an HTML sitemap and redirect to that. There's no evidence at all that an XML sitemap can pass link weight.
