I've recently taken the arduous task of moving from an archaic news system to Wordpress. Annoyingly, my old system used to make the friendly urls like this: http://domain.com/2009/12/16/final-fantasy-xiii-released-new-screenshots-from-famitsu.html While Wordpress makes them like this: http://domain.com/2009/12/16/final-fantasy-xiii-released-new-screenshots-from-famitsu/ I can't seem to make a 301 redirect that will simply remove the .html from the link and add a forward slash. Can anyone help? Thanks.
You can set the permalinks on Wordpress to display the .html part. I'm not sure what your permalink structure is set to but if you remove the last forwardslash and add .html your pages should now display as .html. e.g. /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%.html Code (markup):
