Typing my site domain.com ( have 6000 backlinks) but when I type www.domain.com ( have 2000 backlinks ) If I will use 301 to redirect domain.com to www.domain.com help"s my site or NOT ( In googlwebmaster tool I have set www.domain.com) Thanks
I have read in these forums that it does help.. the reason given was that it focuses all the link juice to the one place.. You can even go one step further by 301ing both domain.com and www,domain.com to www,domain.com/index.html because some stray links may be pointed to index.html. (or php..etc) I wish I could do it, but I am on a windows server and apparently they don't use a htaccess file.. and godaddy do not seem to offer any way to do it in the settings... Unless I missed it! Cheers James
I setup the redirect as soon as I add the domain to the hosting account and it helps (from beginning) and I am not very sure about your situation but I believe it will help. Also, why not redirect www.domain.com(2k) to domain.com(6k) ?
This is very important you can get a duplicate content penalty if google sees the www and the non-www as two separate websites
I have setup google webmaster to www.mydomain.com the problem is could I cange now to mydomain.com ? without any problem? Could afect SERP?
