301 redirect for pr 6 website

    I have a new (2 month old) insurance domain.

    I also have an opporunity to purchase a non related PR6 website for $1k....

    If I did a 301 redirect of the pr6 site to my insurance domain, would that PR6 transfer to my ins site, thus making it a PR 6 site?

    Not necessarily. Make sure the pr6 has a good amount of backlinks and is worth the money before buying it. Make sure it hasnt been dropped and has been registered for a while.

    Your site is not guaranteed a PR6, however a link from a page rank 6 site would help you site alot.

    thanks for the tip.

    I wonder how much will a backlink from a pr6 site help me?

    If I'm #10 for a term that gets 140 local searches, will that bump to the top 3 for example?
