301 redirect for page rank on www.domain.com and domain.com

Okay, so I accidentally got a PR 5 with my site http://www.Lucidly.com (my site has only been around 2-3 months and I spent less than $200 on marketing). Anyways, "www.lucidly.com" now has a PR 5, but "lucidly.com" has a page rank of 0.

How do I do a 301 redirect or whatever needs to be done so that "lucidly.com" will have the same page rank as "www.lucidly.com" after the next update?

Put this in your .htaccess file in your root directory.

    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.lucidly\.com
    RewriteRule (.*) http://www.lucidly.com/$1 [R=301,L]

    Hope this helps!

What if I do not have a .htaccess file? Do I just create one out of nothing and start by inserting that code?

i think you must ask this to your hosting provider. my host has an option while you are adding hosing for your web site . they are adding www if someone types sitename.com

The answer by Jon.West is not want you want to do. Well, it is what you want to do, but it is not the answer to your question. If you follow his advice you will no longer be able to visit the page licidly . com. When you go to that URL you will be redirected to www . lucidly . com.
