Question for all you SEO heads out there. If I were to do a 301 redirect from a domain that has a high position in google to a new domain that cannot be found for that keyword. Will it just automatically switch out and display the new domain or will that domain disappear and then need to re-rank the new one? One domain has been active for around 7 years and is ranking 4th in google for a term. The other domain has been active for around 2 years and is nowhere to be seen. The newest domain is the one that is wanted to be used, but as both have been pointing to the same site, I have come in and having to do a 301 redirect to sort it out.
