I've been searching for an answer including these forums, but can't seem to find it. I have a warning on my site map right now. The HTTP error given is 301 (moved permanently) The URL in question is a new page that's been up for about a week or so. The sitemap contains no files (I checked) that redirect to another page. I have maybe 5-6 permanent redirects total and only one even goes to a page that is in the index. I'm at a bit of a loss on this. I've seen this error on another site, also and I haven't even set up a redirect on that site as it's brand new and small.
Well, the issue is a web page is being redirect to another, might be via a script your running. The issue is the XML sitemap will error out if one URL is pure and another redirects to that same pure URL. Just remove the URL that is giving the error, it displays this in Webmaster Tools.
Thanks for your response. If I remove this link from the sitemap, will that hurt it as far as its ability to get ranked? It would just so happen that out of 90 some pages it's the one that I want to develop more than any other.
