I've heard about that, maybe you can get the page rank, but as soon as you start your own website, in the next PR update you will lose the old high pr. im not sure

I have right answer for your question, nadal. First, if you have use 301 redirect for dropped domain point to your main site, Google will know that the dropped domain just another name of your site. What does this mean? This dropped domain will have your pagerank.

Keep it simple: Your site's PR doesn't change. The dropped domain PR will change, and become fake PR domain.

    Hi

If you are doing redirection for your web page and this is the permanent redirection then sure you will gain your PR. So do not worry about this may be it will tack some time but you will get your original one.

With 301 redirection, you pass on all the credits of redirected domain to redirecting domain.

If the dropped domain still possess PR4, should get PR credit. But you must check its PR if it has dropped to ) or to NA after recent PR update.

301 redirects don't work how you expect in google. Avoid them like the plague. I had a panda penalty for 8 months thanks to a redirect I put in on the mistaken impression that all it would do is *redirect*, not cause google to think I have duplicate content on two domains.
