301 Redirect a Already Rewite URL

My link system is like this..

1. www.xyz.com/index.php?id=abc

which rewrites to

2. www.xyz.com/index-id-abc.html


Now due to some need i have made a static page of this item abc..

3.www.xyz.com/abc/

Can anyone tell me how to redirect my old link to this new one.

I tried this
redirect 301 index-id-abc.html http://www.xyz.com/abc/

but it formats the url as

www.xyz.com/abc/?id=abc

any solution !
