301 = Link Power Transfer?

    I was wondering, does a 301 redirect on a domain pass that domains link power onto the one it's being redirected to?
    I only wondered because Matt Mullenweg changed his domain to ma.tt just before the last-but-one update, in that update he got 0, but in the last one he got 8 (his previous domains' PR), and I thought it strange he'd got that many backlinks in 2 months, lol.
    Anyhow, does it work? :eek:

    it should aswell work for domain a to domain b, a 301 tells the spider that the site has permanently moved and will pass the juice as the spiders follow the redirect, of course the pagerank will drop but give it 1-2 PR Updates to regain your same PR. someone may correct me if im wrong..

    regards

    As long as the ranking on my main domain doesn't drop, I don't care. I'm not overly concerned either way, I was just checking up on something someone told me ;D
