    Hello DPians,

I made a new site on Jan 1, 2012. The site is for Linux users. It covers all the things related to Linux. It has been just 1 month and I got 17-18k visitors. The visitors side is fine but I am not getting click on the ads. Around 7-8 clicks (adsense) on 3000 pageviews. Please review my site and let me know if the ad placement is wrong?

    site URL: http://www.linuxstall.com

That is not normal. Some of my friends are getting 30+ clicks with 500 pageviews. Thanks BTW.

Your homepage is not attractive to me. I suggest to add description along with the post title in the home page for recent posts. Simply you only have topics in the home page. Personally I don't go to read if there is no small description in the homepages. Inner pages looks good and it seems you allow interest based ads too. If you are getting more visits from search engines, then I suggest allow to display content related ads only and test how it works. Sometimes it may give you better results. Use less ad units to get higher CTR.

Hey, try to move those link ads below menu and add banner ad to replace them. Also add 468x60 banner somewhere there between the elements. As you can see, they don't bother much and they are like part of the content. And with banner ads you might get more miss-clicks because the total area of ads is bigger this way. And banner ads with images and flash things are more attaractive than normal links.

    Hopefully this helps :)

Chankey, first of all impresive work since you just launched the site on 01/01/2012 and you are getting good visitors. Just keep at it. keep adding helpful content for readers. and as far as adsense, there is no set strategy to get more clicks. Just try different sizes and colors every week or so and see which one works out awesome. and yeah! Don't filter any ads. let Google run whatever ads it wants to run on your site. It is in more interest for Google to get clicks on its advertisement. After all Google makes money in advertising only.
    Best of Luck!

I am not getting fake visitors. They are genuine visitors from reddit, ycombinator etc. And backlinks won't help, this is not the point.
