Some ppl may not be comfortable with the 3 column layout and might like to try a 2 column one.

Your design might look better this way ... the big rectangular banner area needs to go. One column is adsense and adsense could easily be place at the bottom of the page ........... so you are down to two columns. Same with andrej ... your design would better suit a 2 column layout ...

I only want a 3 column layout - but only if the layout is fluid and integrates nicely .. Last two revisions don't work as 3 column layouts for me. I'm willing to compromise and go with a 2 column layout if it works well/better. Unsure If I would want posting on the left or right in a 2 column layout - pushed for a quick answer I would say postings on right, link column on left ..... but I'm open to suggestions if I have to go down the 2 column route.

I like symmetry - that's why I like zinruss' footer layout - neatly organised but his big rectangular ad spoils the symmetry of the site. The use of the swans reminds me of the story of the 'Children of Lir' - an Irish legend and shows innovation. My preference would be to have the title on the left of the header not on the right as zinruss has it but I can see he needed to work in the 3 columns and not interfere with the posting area. This design might looks much much better as a 2 column layout.

Background brown is too dark in posting area, again your design might look better as a 2 column layout. Header needs more ... it's too bare ... orange tone not appealing.

Header not exciting enough and colours are still wrong. My advice at this stage would be to hold off on submitting anything else until you understand more of what I want. Just watch the thread and it may become clearer.

For your info, i never sent any entry via pm. You can review all my posting, contest that i enter and comfirm my statement with other webmasters as well.

You are a great webmaster and i like you. This is the main reason i am trying my very best to help. Will revise my entry back to 3 column route as soon as possible. The main reason why i make part of the graphic gray, white and black is for watermark purposes. Will submit the complete version when the timing is correct. I sincerely appologize for all inconvenience caused.

* Layout is much better!! It has potential.
* Suggestion re. the quotation: Could it fit in the green stripe above its present position? This might look better - it would follow the title 'Paddy Bloggit.
* The shade of green you have used is still not right. What about trying shades of the psd you downloaded? These aren't fully right either but they might point you in the right direction
* header still needs more - try using more of the elements of the psd I sent you. I still think that a designer can come up with a 'wow' header ..... not just 'copy the psd I had. By the way the flag on the header is wrong (it was wrong on the psd too), flag should rotate 90 degrees anti-clockwise (left).
* Side bar - look at my design brief and see if you can bring more of that in.
* Advertisements - what about something under that? Would it work (again thinking out loud)
* 'Voice of the People' is shown twice ... not good! Search box might fit in here possibly (thinking out loud)

Ok, listen tetragon, i've been workin on it and this is what i have for the moment, its a very very patriotic design but obviously its incomplete but i want some suggestions or comments from you about what should i change.

The title of the site is 'Paddy Bloggit' not Paddy Blog It'
Your entry would need alot of changes before it came close to what I'm looking for ....

 

OK, then i will try to make another one fast, just give me some time, will look at all of your posts to get what you need.

 

Fast .... I don't want ..... Quality and thought put into a design is what I need. I don't need a rush job .... if I did I'd have picked any old design long ago.

Read the thread .... if you have questions ask .... the thread has alot of what I want written on it ..
