$300 Webdesign and Logo Contest

Ive doen the improvments see my problem is i aint a logo designer so you need to visualise the logo you want next to my image lolz, or if you want ill will ask my employee logo designer to knock one up for the comp

anyway improvments and took a look at what you liked and tried to incorprate it

For webpage, needs to finish the logo to be used so that it will be effective to put on the web for color matching etc.

 

I tried to go with blending colors and clean basic look like the example sites.
I plan to make custom black/red icons for the links.
I also plan to make a simple background for the right side column for 'Categories. Hot categories'.

Remind: I'm not competing for logo

Feedback appreciated again. The first one was a mockup of colors - that's why it was terrible. I should've labeled it as a mockup of colors.

NOTE:- Some pepl saying that I didn't read specifications.. OK even if I didn't read the full requirements, there is not much problem.. I can convert this design to any color within 15-20 minutes and change the size according to within 5 minute.... so total max about 30 minute....
This is to just show my work.. If you like the design I will covert to red.. Just ask here

lol, it seems like nobody readed the brief

 

For the website? He wanted white, red, grey, and black colors. He wanted a clean look like the websites listed. He wanted it 970px max width and a column for 250px width on the right hand side.

At this point in time people are trying to not get so complicated because that tends to clutter a page. A super basic look isn't what he wants either. So something in the middle from what I'm getting.

But I see some people using blue but I don't know if he's okay with that since he specified colors. We'll see though.

 

People are going to use blue because it's used in on the mascot.

I'll start my entry later today.

 

Might enter for the web site design, depends if I manage to clear my backlog today!

@ lilmikey - Not really what I'm looking for. The colors are different and its 3 columns instead of 2....

@ rebelagent - Hmmm... the colors are too rough and I don't think they blend well together... something smoother would be best...

@ muimuiastig - I like the logo - I think having the word magazine under the word boy would be better. Try using the colors in the first post. I'm not feeling the big icons on the right nav for login/poll. Also - please make it bigger so I can provide better feedback.

@ ritesh2408 - Not what I'm looking for - in any color... It's not the style I'm looking for.

Happy for you dude - but I know exactly what I want. Its all there in the information I provided.

 

you have over 13 pages of entries in 2 topics, from some of the best designers available on DP, lolz
and your making them jump through hoops what you should of done is picked a design you liked and worked through it with the designer personally rather than people constantly changing it for you to say no nno, no dont like, wrong colours etc

Attack or opinion, its irrelevant. This a contest. If I wanted to work with a single designer, I'd hire a single designer. I feel you get some of the best work through competition and that's what I want - the best. And honestly - I'm not making anyone do anything, I'm providing feedback for their entry.

I appreciated your efforts but please refrain from posting irrelevant posts - your opinion isn't really needed in my contest.

Hi Kurtis, good to see you here. I like the design. The colors are not as soft as I'd like and I don't think they blend as much as they could if they were softer, but its the best/cleanest design so far. I don't like the logo - its just plain text, something custom would be preferred.
