300+ Uniques a day but no CTR on Adsense? What to do?

    Hi all, my website www.notableandquotable.com gets over 300 unique visits per day but no-one really clicks on my adsense ads at all.

    If this was your website, what would you do to get some $$ coming in? I have tried different colors, placement of the ads etc to no avail.

    Suggestions about getting some $$ from this site more than welcome.

    Have you tried putting them in the actual content? When they are at the top people can avoid them by scrolling down. If they are in the content, they will look at them more, which increases your chance that they will click it. Its basic adsensoligy. :)

    That banner you have at the header... Make the background and the frame colour #D5911E, Link title white, link text black as it is now and link url white, black or #F7E2C1. Il be suprised if that does not help.

    I think you have a bad case of banner blindness with the very top ad. People have become immune to those placements because they are accustomed to seeing ads in that position.

    Check this out too heatmap

    Finally, I would say that your photos are quite large...I would suggest scaling them down a bit, removing the uppermost ad, and moving it to below the photos...near where you have the search bar now.

    You could also try some adsense link units and see if that helps.

    edit: when I first open your site there is a pop up that covers your top banner ads....so even if you leave them there...you can't really see them.

    The send a quote pop up is obstrusive. The images are irrelevant and the last one is blurred. The horizontal scroling is bad - people normally scroll top, down. Too much free space at the left.

    Why are these important links smaller than the body text?

    There should be something wrong with that URL as I know see one line quote on the top and blank for the rest.

    You need to check as that might be the reason why no click!!!

    Getting clicks on your adsense ads depends on many factors
    I would experiment on this like positioning of your ads and particularly taking away any borders or boxes round ad blocks

    Clicks do also depend on the subject matter of your site - some toopics simply dont get as many clicks

    It also depends on the quality of the traffic. It might be a good idea to look at your stats and see how long people are staying on your site, that might be a clue as to whether people are finding what they are looking for

    I got a popup of some sort that actually covered your google banner at the top...I can't click an ad if something is over it....

    That heatmap link was cool, thanks. It's interesting to note that since I started placing ads in the dark orange quadrant, my CTR went from below 1% to around 10%. :)

    I would put an ad block near here.

    I dont like the banner on top. I will remove that if I were you. I will put one ad block at the bottom "Top rated quotes". But thats just me.

    I would also remove the border of the ad block.

    I have a bit more traffic then you, but practically 0% CTR on the site in my signature.

    Alexa is showing no traffic. And this site don't have any backlinks even. I don't understand where the traffic comes from?
    Any how; i would suggest to go for SEO. Then you will get better result. Please do contact any SEO expert for SEO.

    Hi all, I won't say exactly where all the traffic is coming from but let me put it this way; if you are a programmer then one of the best ways to drive traffic to a website is to create a piece of freeware software which provides a service and embed a link to your website in it :) 99% of my page views do not come from the web

    I like the quotes by Gautama and Lao-Tzu. They are my favorites.

    Haven't read the other tips, but your ads are not visible to me on your site. I go straight to the quotes and you waste my attention making me look at your graphic in the centre of the page, where you could place ads. Just try different stuff you will hit a better return.

    I increased my CTR by utilizing combinations of attention, location attraction and color. There are many ways to raise CTR within the TOS.
