$300/mo to build my business. Advice please

I own a few sites that make a profit that I can reinvest.

If I were to invest $300 per month over my top 5 sites, what could I get and what would be the expected result?

I'd like to use this to increase traffic and income. Probably a No Brainer, but if left unsaid, someone will offer me the Brooklyn Bridge (AGAIN!!!) :)

    Thanks,

    John

You could get nothing or you could turn it into $3000 ;) Seriously though, it is not how much you invest but where you invest that you have to focus open, I guess :)

Basically, you need to invest at those places, where you can expect a decent ROI for your investment - what ROI you want, would depend on your personal goals and targets.:)

Do you have an auto-responder series on your sites for the products you sell (if you sell any?)

If not you could get a copywriter (if you dont like copywriting) to write one for you. Then add a popup into your main page offering your "free" guide or tips. Which of course you also tie your products into.

Thus way you have a customer base and they will be more likely to purchase from you after a few contacts.

Well thats how i started. With 1 site making me $200 monthly from PR5 link sales mostly. I suggest you keep working hard making new websites and invest your current money in getting more traffic to either your existing sites or new sites. Get the traffic by optimizing for google rankings.

    Good luck.

Do some free stuff first (if you haven't already) and save your $300

Submit to free, non-reciprocal directores using your main key words in varying anchor text. If the directory allows it (most don't), point some links at internal pages. See info.vilesilencer.com for, IMO, the best list of free directories. Htey also offer a directory submission service. That would eat up your 300 as I think they are at $349 per domain now. You could do one a month....

Start writing (or hire someone to start writing) informative articles related to your site. Offer advice, reviews, tips, etc. Aim for 500 - 1,000 words. Try to do one per week per site and submit those to good free article sites, like GoArticles, ArticleCity, eZineArticles, or the one in my sig :). Put a links to your site imbeded in the article body or footer using your keywords.

Create a blog that you use to post news about your sites. Everytime you do something on your aite, add and entry with a keyword rich anchor link. Use the blog(s) to post summaries and links to news articles that concern your industry.

The thing they do I don't see others doing is that they roll out the submissions over a span of three months to keep you from suddenly popping on the radar with a few hundred links.

They submit to every link in the spreadsheet on the site, including any new directory sites that crop up over the course of three months.

An no, I'm not affiliated with them. They used to be priced at $99 (I used them a few times), but just recently went up to $300+. I've yet to use them since the price increase. I'm lazy, but I'm not $300 worth of lazy.....

I usually launch websites for about $200...
Buy directory submission services (or submit to them yourself, although its a bit timewasting when u can get 300 for $30)...
Do a press release, that will cost up to $100...
submit to a few high price high pr directories (e.g. microsoft small business dir)

Using these methods you can launch a new website each month for $300 and get quite a bit of visitors for them.

OK, sounds like a plan. These are established sites. Can you tell me who you use for directory submissions?

    Thanks

I've used Tuning (a member on this forum, look him up).

He's always been professional and the prices are great.

OK, here is where I'm at. I have hired 2 users here to do link submissions. The first one (adolix) submited my site to 250 sites/directories. My mailbox was filled with notices and confirmation required messages. This was completed in 1 day.

The second just finished 300 sites/directories (on a different site) for $5.00. I figured, nothing to lose. No a single acceptance, denial or confirmation notice. Hmmm... Kiss that $5.00 goodbye. I have now hired adolix to do this site also.

OK, I have hired an article to be written per your advice. I just recieved it. Looks nice.

How do I submit this article to 500 sites?

    I appreciate all your advice.

    Thanks a lot!

Just a small point when it comes to articles. I guess it depends on how you are close to your users...probably depends on the type of site..but a personal touch is always nice. People want to connect with other people. I think with articles its nice to write a series of articles with your voice, a voice they recognise rather than some obscure writer, whos work looks like its been written by a journalism student. Certainly i think if you manage a community oriented site like a forum this would be a better alternative to hiring someone.

That aside though your sites are more like portals so using pro writers is a good option. There are a couple people to use on these forums:

    Tuning is one : http://www.directorysubmission.net

    and Alfredo is another :http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=524669#post524669

jkjazz, my advice for your articles is to have very catchy titles. this has worked for me very well, and get me lots of views, and then visitors. exemples:
    - Jack the DVDRipper Comes Back to the 21st Century
    - Back up your mail – get your history safe
    - Tips to become a master DVD ripper

the 2nd directory submission will be ready in 24h, as I promised :)

There's a poster around here who does article submissions... can't remember his name though. A search for article submission service might show it up.

Also, I encourage anyone who offers any sort of Internet Marketing service to post a free profile in Free Article HQ Internet Marketing Freelancer Database. I finished development of it this month, seeking to provide a service where freelance marketers can advertise and those looking to get work done can post their available projects.

    Details: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=61750

It's empty right now (well, 2 including my own profile), but if Free Article HQ keeps growing, I think it could be a valuable place to have your information or to look for freelancers.
