Not sure why a couple of people felt the need to bump this 3 year old thread...other than to increase post count. A simple search on Google for "article directories" brings up several up-to-date lists of article directories. This one is first in the results and contains the top 50 article sites and includes PR and alexa rankings: http://www.vretoolbar.com/articles/directories.php

 

articlesbase.com is also a very good directory and moreover it is better way to create a better traffic to the site.
