$30 Page Update Contest

    I have a page that I quickly designed, but I'm not a very good site designer or artist.

    Basically, I just need the page spruced up, as right now I think it looks rather bland and too wordy. The "too wordy" part is tricky; there needs to be a better way to present everything that the page currently says. But the logo is already designed, so no major artwork needs to be done (perhaps some text borders or other ways to better present the information). One piece of art I would like is something in the header behind the logo to make it look more interesting... maybe, and this is just a suggestion, some very faint pinstripes on a diagonal.

    Also, while the page as I designed it looks fine in Firefox, it doesn't display properly in Internet Explorer. I need the code to be remixed so that the site looks more or less the same in both browsers.

    Finally, I'm happy with the page's width (900 pixels for the main body) and color scheme, so I'd prefer it if those remain the same.

    The contest will end September 30th. If someone comes up with something I like and will use, I will pay $30 via PayPal. Otherwise, I'll pay $10 for a quick tidy-up to make the page look more or less the same in both browsers.

    If anyone has any other suggestions or ideas for the site, let me know. I'm willing to pay separate from the contest for ideas that I like (we can negotiate pricing).

    There've been a fair number of views, but I haven't heard from anyone as of yet... is there anything I need to clarify or change about the contest?

    Well, it was just the one entry, and although I liked it, I have declined to use it on the site. I'm surprised that I only received one entry... perhaps the contest award was too little, but I didn't receive any feedback about it.
