$30 Logo/Header Graphic

Discussion in 'Design Contests' started by spiritman, Aug 27, 2009.

I need a logo for my www.MarketCrushers.com site as part of the 959x146 header Graphic you will create.

You'll provide the logo and the combo in both jpeg or gif and psd.

It's wide open for your imagination (the site isn't live)

The site is for offline marketing. In fact you may, if you choose, add the subhead "Online Marketing for Real World Businesses"

The deadline is Sunday August 30th at 11pm EDT.

I reserve the right to close the contest early and award the winner if I so desire.

If you think stock photos are appropriate just add them with the watermark and we'll determine if the added cost is justified, and if you win, we'll pay the extra...please indicate the extra cost with your entry.

The winner agrees to make minor modifications if required. $15 will be paid upon choosing the winner and $15 after those mods are done.

    Let's Git'r Done!

    Thanks

    Interesting entries so far.

As for the Logo, I was hoping for something more than just stylized text/fonts, not that there is anything wrong with what is here so far...

Swalih...you've done some nice logos in the past, this logo isn't your best effort.

Just to give you a background....you may or not have heard the term "crushing it" referring to when someone does extremely well. i.e a marketer is just "crushing it" in his niche....

I had some visions of the letters in "crushers" getting crushed by a "press" like a wine press or a vice, or being stepped on by a cartoon character of sorts...I wasn't married to that idea...like I said, it's wide open.

That's the idea I want to convey somehow.

The idea of all the people running to the logo/company is kinda cool.

I'm still thinking about that orange/world idea...first strikes me as kind of "evil"...mad/crazed power hungry person crushing the world...but it may grow on me.

    Keep em coming folks.

if there are more entries today I'll share my thoughts Saturday or early Sunday so you can make appropriate changes or narrow down your thinking a little.

    Thanks so far

PS...Please post your entries here an not just pm them so everyone can get the public feedback.

Like always, and as I did last time, I may end up giving some work to someone who doesn't win but shows some skill/talent as well.

    Hey guys,

    Just wondering.

I've seen some work that some folks do and it's great, but their entries into contests don't stack up...they don't seem to put out the same effort.

    Is this true?

    Share your thoughts.

I understand that you don't want to do a bunch of work and not get paid if you don't win, on the other hand you are 1. competing and 2. showcasing your work.

Would you prefer to just be handed the work? If so, how can you assure your client they will be happy? I've hired people in the past and sometimes it's almost a fight to get them to come up with something inspired...they want me to give them all the direction as to what I want when I really want them to use their own imagination.

    Quick feedback,

Anything with a person sitting at a computer, headsets on etc isn't something that I want to use.

Remember these people, the customers, are REAL world business owners with real live customers.

It's still wide open regarding ideas.

The "logo" is something I'll want to possibly use on twitter background pages, youtube branded pages etc, even letterhead possibly so keep that in mind.

    Witcher...nope

Phangan...Nice and clean looking, not sure the wrecking ball is the right symbol..sure it could indicate "smashing through barriers"....

    Jag...nope
Everyone should know that most likely the businesses will be in North America at least initially

    Mo...nope

Swali...still thinking about that world/orange...but if I went with that I'd probably just remove the photo on the right completely...either I'd leave it blank or use that for a phone number or opt-in form

    Keep the ideas coming please.

    Thanks

***Here's an idea I'd like to at least see...perhaps try putting the words like this
    Market
    Crushers

with something pushing the word market down and "crushing" the word "crushers" so that the letters are still readable but look like they are getting crushed/cracked/breaking

    Just a thought

Just a few more hours to go before the deadline...lots of time for new submissions!

Nothing yet makes me say "Yes!".

There are some elements of a few that I like...

Z...want to explain your logo? and the pic on the right side of your graphic?

    Okay,

    Here's the deal.

I don't think any entry does what I want, thanks but sorry guys.

    But...I don't want to run a contest and not have a winner...cause I don't want a bad rep.

    So here's the deal.

I'm going to choose a winner if they agree to do major revisions...basically start from scratch.

Based on that, and since I know from past experience that they do come through with revisions, I'm awarding the deal to focused on art....

I'll let you know if he accepts.
