$30 Logo Design Contest (Sports)

    Hi guys,

I am looking for a logo for a new site I am developing which will be a guide on how to play snooker better.

The logo should contain the domain name which will be Snooker Guide .co.uk

I am open to ideas and would like you to be creative with your designs, obviously using objects from the game of snooker would be preferred e.g. triangle, cue, chalk, etc. However it is up to you as the designer how you do it.

Something cartoon like or professional looking is fine. Basically I have few pre-conceived ideas on how it should look so I am leaving it up to you to be creative and not feel like you have to work within too many parameters.

In addition to the $30 prize for the winner they will also be given first refusal for designing header graphics, ebook covers, banners, etc to go with the site. I may even offer the winner the chance to design the entire site :)

No set deadline on this, it will remain running until I have found something I like and want to go with.

Any questions let me know :)

I like this one mate, very clean and professional looking. Only concern is whether it is a bit too simple and has nothing to make it stand out and be remembered.

Not overkeen on this one mate if Im honest. I dont like the effect on the text and it doesnt really look professional in my opinion. Thanks for the entry though :)

Thanks for the entry. Nice try but not really what I am looking for, doesnt say snooker enough for me and just doesnt really fit with what I want (although Im struggling to find anything more specific to say!)

One thing to note is that snooker is not the same as pool and therefore balls with numbers on are not relevant. For anyone unsure here is the official snooker website: http://www.worldsnooker.com

abuelintvn - I like them but they are very similar to the first entry and I think I prefer the first one to be honest.

ganstery - Its nice but doesnt quite look professional enough I dont think so I would have to say the first entry is still my favourite.

I will run this competition over the weekend and choose a winner on Monday so that everyone has a chance to get their entries in :)

Tajio - I like it mate, perhaps you could see if you could get some imagery in there without losing the professionalism of the logo?

The snooker balls in place of the oo has been done a lot so would like to see something a bit different, a bit more than just two balls.

Anyone fancy trying a profesional looking cartoon one?

I have an image in my head of a triange of balls with something jumping out and the text around it. Its not a great image in my head though just a vague idea so very hard to explain!

Although I do like it this one looks quite dated (which is a common problem with snooker designs). Looks like a 1980's logo for a TV program ;)

Do you think you could try a similar concept but modernize it more?

    Thanks guys,

Zyndtel - I like the concept but think it needs more than just the chalk on it, maybe some balls, cues, etc too?

Suke - Of your three entries I prefer the last one with the open book. However Im still not sure it is exactly right for what I want. Can you think of any ways to make your original entry look more modern?

MascotSun - Nice design but if I go for a simple one I think vtopaloff's entry would just edge it.
