$30 Logo Contest

This is a $30 logo contest for tdn.com that will be paid via paypal.

Info, I am the webmaster of tdn.com but I am pretty much just a coder, not that good at graphic design so I need someone to design a logo for our redesign which you can see at http://redesign.tdn.com. I would like the logo to incorporate a volcano (Mt St. Helens) in it like the current logo does but it does not have to be the same way. Maybe the text over the volcano or what ever creative way you come up with:

I would like TDN.com to be prominent and The Daily News Online - News, Jobs, Community to be like the catch phrase.

This is what I had designed but then I realized it sucked!


For the colors I would prefer if you used some sort of blue but you don't have to use the current blue being used on the tdn.com or redesign.tdn.com. You can also change the color of the nav if you want just to show how the color would work with the nav.

For the size, I would like it to stay around 300px wide by 80 tall but it doesn't have to be exact, it can be 317 x 86, 289 x 92 etc...

The contest will end this Friday the 21st at 10 AM pst so long as there are enough good entries.

If there are no entries that are deemed a winner then the contest will be re-held.

Thanks for your entry Freelance GD, but if you read above I wanted the volcano incorperated with the logo some how as well as the catch phrase.

Well I've taken a look at some other contests and I guess I would like it to have a web 2.0 look as well.

 

Do you like this design? If you do I will work with it into a header, I didn't want to do that If you didn't like it. PM me if you want it.
I personaly think it would look better without the mountain. Just a thought.

Keep them coming guys! I'm think I want them to look a little more web 2.0 then what I've seen so far. Is the volcano absolutly required? I'm having trouble making a good web 2.0 style volcano.

 

How's this? Web 2.0 enough? Want me to try a different font? If you like this design, I'll do one with your slogan.
