Hey Guys,

Aion here with yet another contest ( DP always delivers on high quality designs ).

I need a new logo done for my up and coming site: StudentBuzz.org ( note site has not started development. So no preview of the template ) ( Don't make .org stand out too much in the logo. )

StudentBuzz is basically a site aiming at connecting Students from around the world. Think like a social network but with a few more features and things.

My partner and I don't really have many ideas in mind. So you are up to your artistic license with this one. However 2 things we do want to avoid is a bumble bee ( often associated with buzz ) and the colour red.

What we are looking for is a nice clean logo. That is unique and brandable. And also has that wow factor.

Web 2.0 logo would be great. But it would also need to look nice on paper/poster.

Do not use work you do not own. I don't want to see any stock photo's or anything. Must be created by you.

I will provide feedback for every design. But please give me some time to talk to my partner about the design and I also don't monitor the competition 24/7 so there will be some delay.

Prize is $30 via PayPal.

Contest will last 72 hours ( 3 days ) from the time of this post.

I have held many successful contests in the past here at DP ( check my iTrader ) and looking for another great one.

Nice colours used. However the grey seems a little too light. Also not to fond of the repeating buzz.

Sorry not to fond of the design. The green doesn't look too appealing as it feels quite depressing. Also it doesn't fit our concept as it gives the idea of loneliness. We are trying to promote collaboration and coming together.

 

Staying away from hard to reproduce reflections in stationary.

Glad to see you in the contest. My partner and I are liking the concept. However we feel that there is a bit too much whitespace and would like it to utilize the space a bit more. Maybe an SB in the center and then moving the logo to the side or?

Also the font could use some livening up as it looks a bit too simple as just plain grey. But overall its defitneley on the right track and symbolizes many things that the site stands for which is good. Its nice and brandable as well.

If you could stick to a white background that would be good. As we will be printing this quite a bit and ink charges aren't the cheapest. The logo just doesn't have that brandable look that we are looking for.

sm1979:

While the symbolistic values are there. We just don't feel it has enough of a WOW factor or brandability factor.

Its a nice concept but it just doesn't have that brandability are are looking for. The font seems a bit too simple and the Z's jump off the page a bit too much. It definitely has some potential though.
