$30 Logo and Header Contest

Site background: My new site is called "DVD for a dollar" (www.dvdforadollar.com) and displays ebay auctions for cheap DVDs

Look: I want a simple/subtle, web 2.0 looking banner that contains a brandable logo. The banner size should be 760 x 140. At the moment the site does not have any colour, and as I am not very good at choosing colour combinations, I will leave that to you to suggest.

Prize: $30 via Paypal

Time: Contest runs until Saturday, November, 3rd. However, I may cut the contest short if I receive an entry I like

Thanks for the entries so far. However I am not seeing anything that catches my eye. I want a logo that represents cheap DVDs in some way.

Neil: Yours is the best so far, however the logo needs some work, and I think the colours need to be more eye catching

TDGraphics: Good effort, however I want something a bit more original and not based on ebay's logo.

fxuxl: Good effort also, and it is growing on me, but at the moment it has too many colours.

Looking forward to seeing more entries

matafixer - Your entry doesnt feel like a web 2.0 design to me. I am after more colour and a simple brandable logo.

DoubleJ519 - This is getting closer to what I am after. I like the concept. Could you smooth out the jagged edges on the letters and make the background cleaner?

LoneWolf9378 - A nice simple design which I like, although I am not sure about the circle with the dollar sign in the background. If you want to resubmit, could you change the wording to "DVD for a dollar" instead of "DVD's for a dollar". Excellent effort.

NsaneNoob - Your design is too dark for my liking

Thanks for the feedback, I've smoothed out the text and have 2 different backgrounds. One is lighter than the original:



And here is one with just a pure white background.



If you have any other ideas in mind for the background, please let me know!
