I would like to send $30 to anyone who can get my home page to validate. The site is Cold Laser Therapy. us (remove the spaces). I can not figure out how to get it to validate. I will pay via PayPal the first person who is able to get it to validate. Thanks! Michael
Your page is really messed up and needs redoing from the ground up. To start with, the Doctype is XHTML 1.1 but the page is being served as content type text/html -- it must be served as content type application/xhtml+xml -- just specifying that in the Meta tag will not do -- it must be done in the server -- refer to my page relating to serving XHTML. In any event I am sure you don't want to serve it as correct XHTML 1.1 -- IE browsers will not render the content correctly anyway. Change the Doctype (with no prolog) to: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC '-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN''http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd'> <html xmlns='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml' xml:lang='en' lang='en'> .......... and, while you are at it, the Meta tag to: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> .......... might as well go with the Strict DTD and utf-8 charset .......... then there are numerous Markup errors to correct James
Agreed. This page needs to be rewritten from the ground up. There are font tags (deprecated), center tags (deprecated), intense use of <br /> where CSS should be using margins and padding... What would server you better is to hire someone (for more than $30) to completely rewrite this site in minimal, semantic markup, either in XHTML1.0 or HTML4.01 Strict. As a side note, the image in the middle loads so slowly (and I'm on hi-speed internets) because it's big. Stick a resized image in there, like a thumbnail, instead.
