Site: www.skullfinder.com Look: Here are my thoughts on the header graphic: 1. The design must look professional. 2. I want something that is fairly gothic in design with a black background. 3. I dont want a cartoony look. I need something that goes with the current site design and colors. I have an image in my head of a small group of objects such as a human skull, a lit candle and a pendant. You can take this idea and develop it, or come up with something of your own. The banner size should be 750px x 132px Prize: $30 via Paypal Time: Contest runs until Sunday, December, 9th. However, I may cut the contest short if I receive an entry I like Thanks and good luck! Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I did what I could and here are my entries: May do more later, thanks.
If possible please let me know what you think about my above two designs. If you're looking for something a bit different, let me know and I can try again.
First of all I want to thank everyone that has taken the time and effort to participate - I really appreciate it. Here is some feedback. IQdesigns - This is a bit too plain and not creative enough. zilox - I quite like the font, but dont like the graphic work. scorpionagency - This one at the moment shows the greatest promise. I like the faint skulls in the background, but I dont like the grimacing face. The faint skulls give it an eerie look which I like, but it doesnt go over the top. The words "Skull Finder" need to be a bit clearer and I think a plainer font would look better. SuperBlog - I think the words "Skull Finder" need to be cleaner - at the moment I find them a bit too messy. I want the words to either be clearer, or be eerie - I think this was probably the effect you were going for on the second design. Jackuul - The idea of the candle in the lettering is an interesting and creative idea. I feel though that the graphic on the left is a bit too cartoony moodswing - Sorry, this is too cartoony. The design needs to communicate the fact that what is being offered ranges from real skulls, which the medical profession may be interested in, to mounted replica skulls which would be displayed in someones home - this is why the design needs to look slick and proffessional. Lastly, it really helped to see how the design looked on the site. Thanks, Brew
Thanks for letting me know - I had downloaded a few fonts from the gothic section and used those. What do you mean by eerie? I had thought those were pretty eerie, but maybe that's just my taste. Do you want something less grunge-like?
Hi SuperBlog By eerie, I mean something mysterious or a suggestion of something that might be supernatural. There was an element of realism in the headers that looked eerie to me - the faint background that was tiled with skulls is a good example of this. Is that helpful ? Brew
