Okay, just to throw a little non-biased input out here, I'm not involved with the 30 day challenge at all nor have I ever been. I followed along last year because their focus was on Web 2.0 marketing and that always has my interest. I don't know what the focus this year is on, but last year I got some decent insights on social networks and bookmarking that I hadn't seen being shared in too many other places yet, so there was value in what they were doing for me. They did try to upsell memberships into a coaching program at the end of the challenge to take people "further" along. It wasn't too aggressive and a simple unsubscribe option is available--but during the actual 30 days it was strictly informational any time a mailing was sent out. As for the fellow who said he didn't want to watch videos, I'm with you on that. I don't have time for lengthy video presentations and I never... ever want to see or hear your kids playing in the background while I'm trying to pick out nuggets of knowledge from what your saying... that's a personal peeve. But, Mike Mindel (from WordTracker) kept a blog last year where he transcribed and broke down what was in all the videos and audio casts so that gave me a way to follow without watching all the fluff. I just subscribed to his blog feed and was able to stay on top of things as they were shared. I don't know if Mike or someone else will be doing that this year, but it was the thing that kept me following along last year so if they do that'd be worth throwing into your RSS reader. The bottom line: Last year I got some decent tips from following along on Web 2.0 platforms and have been able to incorporate them into my existing strategies for maximizing RSS in different ways to build SERPs and traffic in niche markets. A lot of what they shared seemed remedial to me, but I've been doing this stuff for a lot of years so that's to be expected I suppose, but here and there they did share some good stuff that like I said, at that time I wasn't seeing being shared in too many other places yet so it was worth it to me to follow along. Take my opinion for what it is, my opinion. I can't say that anything I learned by following along last year resulted in any direct visitors or sales for me, but I can say that I've improved some SERPs and added hundreds of monthly visitors to my niche sites by taking what I got on Web 2.0 platforms from last year's challenge and mixing it with what I already knew about RSS to branch my niche funnels out further. Since I don't know what this year is focusing on I can only judge off of last year, but for newbies I'd say the challenge is probably a solid launching pad where they'll get candid information on setting up niche markets--for experienced marketers there will be a ton of what you already know gone over with a few gold nuggets mixed in here and there that can spawn some new ideas; at least that's what I got from following it last year.
Now if it was Darren rowse from Problogger we would sit up and take notice as hes got the background, the skills and know his stuff etc, but thats if i wanted to hear an australian. 5 utube videos from his girlfriend and 4 drinking pals does not make him John Chow! - My advise is for him to go an a diet, stop eating the muffins and stop using blogblaster for most of his blogs
Don't agree that Alexa is a good way to measure traffic. Instead of beating that, why don't you go on Stompernet and click on Ed Dale. See the results and then BEAT THAT Or maybe this? Ed Dale Twitter . Can you get sometime so many supporters?
Hey man he's ED DALE, haven't you heard of him? He's a STUFF MEMBER of Stompernet, and stompernet is 17.000 on alexa. Problogger is 15.000 on alexa. Stompernet is a commercial site, problogger offers free content. People tend to visit more free content than commercial ones. So Stompernet would need 100x more resources to make that big. That's my logic
Oh please stop this shit. It is so obvious that you are one of the guys behind this site, Dan! So instead of lying about who you are, you should tell people about yourself and what you are offering. That would be much more trustable. Now, by trying to trick people into this, you are showing that you are not here to help them. You are here to make money! In other words: You are a bad person! You are also advertising it in you other thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=878807 - Probably the only reason why you started it! "This is the one I started with. I found this method perfect for beginners on 30 Day Challenge site which was a way to make your first $10 online." You are even using the exact same words as they do on their website. And wow, the guy has made 33 posts. Half of them to promote his own site. Well, that's a guy you can trust.
Well its not like the 30 day challenge is a paid program and you would get commissions if you get users to sign up or anything. Besides the challenge had 100,000+ participants last year so it doesn't really need this kind of advertisement. Still I agree this guy looks like a thirty day challenge puppet Ok now on topic: I started internet marketing with the thirty day challenge. gave me a good introduction and I am planning on doing it again this year simply because it's fun. And the basic idea is to build an actual business, not the stuff I am building
I'm totally agreed with ScottBannon. I like the way to discover niches they've showed in challenge'2007. I like the whole idea of the challenge. It's funny. I suppose the challenge won't let you relax and say 'ok. I'll do it tomorrow'. And it's definitely no purpose of collectin e-mails and sell them to anybody. Anyway this is my opinion. I'm in.
Shut up I'm not Dan and what's wrong promoting a high quality website? People should listen to people who make money online, not assholes like you.
Please stop behaving like a child. This is not the forum for that kind of language. >People should listen to people who make money online, not assholes like you People should learn from someone who truely wanna help then, and I have my doubt about this guy. "not assholes like you"? When did I ever teach people how to make money, and how can you say that I'm not making money online? Well, I guess you have now proved that you are not a part tihs site, you are obviously too young. And if you are talking like that, then yes, it is wrong for you to promote websites on this forum.
I don't get it. Is the idea that you make $10 in 30 days? You could make that picking up pennies in the street...
