Sometimes it simply depends on what are you writing about on your site. If Google doesn't have advertiser that pay too much for some clicks, then you simply can't get more. Or, maybe those who have clicked stayed just some seconds on the landing page

That depends upon the niche you select, if you select a wrong niche which pays very low then you can also get like this "100 clicks and 10 cents of earning".
