$30+ Banner Contest

Hey all, I've seen some really fantastic graphic designers around these parts so I figure I should give you all a go.

Here's the scoop:

Necessary:
White background, matches / flows with site, try to keep it below 70px, crisp and fresh, plays well with most monitors and resolutions, easy on the eyes, it would also be nice if you could incorporate the "red swoosh" into the banner while adding other appeal (unless it doesn't work).

If it's fantastic I'll send you more than $30.

Also, if you want to keep things safe I advise you watermarking your creations or PM'ing them to me; graphic theivery is a terrible thing.

To make this fair and to give everyone a chance I'll have it end on the 31st - Sunday.

Anyway, here's some comments:

Vivko: Nice and clean, I'm just not sure about the font choice.
pat3ck: This reminds me of the old banner I had up a month or so ago, it's a good start but I'm not sure about the book icon.
jackieh1791: This looks really good, but the dot, left graffic, and second text color throw me off a bit.
graphicband: It's very crisp, but the colors are a bit off and the tag makes it feel like a commercial website.

I actually somewhat prefered your first. Anyway, check out the site - reviewstash.com - the color choice and design doesn't really fit in. But, I've seen you put up some pretty amazing designs.

 

Hmmmm.. Might be interested, will get back to you after i finish a project. (about a day or two)

It's looking much better, try removing the dot that seperates the words. Maybe a light dash?

Yugo: It's nice and simple, try lightening the colors and stroke a bit though, otherwise it looks great.
