I'm not usually one to complain about low value of prizes in contests, but this one really is unbelivable. $3.50 a banner or something it works out as.

    Good luck, anyway!

    Hi Guys,

Maybe I was not clear enough, sorry. I only need 3 different banners styles. Each of the 3 styles should have 3 different sizes. So you have to design 3 diefferent banners, and then just adjust the size on each of them.

Ok, now I am not sure whether it will be a lot of work to adjust sizes. In my understanding the main work is to design the 3 banners, adjusting sizes should be a matter of minutes, but please correct if I am wrong. If I should be wrong I will say sorry and come up with a different payout scheme. Please advice, because I am not an expert, thanks.

You will need 3 different animated banners and each of those in 3 different sizes. As far as I'm aware, it's very difficult to just re-size an animated banner without a lot of quality loss. Meaning all the base images would have to be re-sized 3 times and each one animated in the same way 3 times.

$30 is not a lot of money, and if anyone does it, the quality of the work won't be very good.... and that's just for 1 banner.

There is a saying in English: 'You get what you pay for.'

Yeah it's clear it's three banners but like the man dusty said, it's not simply a case of selecting a size and it resizing. Every element needs resizing, moving, re-rendering sometimes.

What's a good price for an advertising banner (not a header)?

Well, it's all relative and depends on the person who's requesting the services. I have seen some competitions where the competition holder clearly knows nothing about design, or its interpretations and they go on to announce a logo the winner that is absolutely horrible. All while others had submitted amazing logos.

Some peoples' design skills are not relative, either. Some people can design for $20 or $200 and the quality will be the same. If you ask me how much a banner would cost, I would tell you I'd put in the work for at least $50 for one animated banner. But the price would reflect this.

More payout = more quality but, on a forum like this, the quality will no doubt peak at around $300 as there simply aren't that many highly talented designers here. I would never put the work in for a design for a 'chance' to win any more than $150, as that effort could be wasted by losing the competition.

Wow. Long, but you get my point(s) I hope. :)

BizLord, this is not the correct statement. You need 3 concepts and each concept must have 3 different sizes. Additional, all those banners must be animated. In other word, you need 9 animated banners in total. Note that there are a lot of layers in psd and it is not a few minutes work for adjusting them. I believe different designers are using different softwares for creating animated banners. Those softwares have unique function for text effect etc but our design is different. We will adjust the animated effect frame by frame using photoshop and your price is really too low to have a good start ( no offence ).

Our suggestion is you might consider offering a small prices for all those entries, let say $5 for the best 5 concept here and $50 for the winner.

    Hi Guys,

Ok I will alter the conditions of this contest. Create one concept for each size for me. That means you will only have to design 3 banners, one in each of the sizes given above. Hope this will gat some response! Deadline is 06.04.07.
