$30 Band Logo Contest - Open to lots!

Hi guys,

Ok, my band are looking for a new logo. I say new, but we've never really had one. It will be used on our website, myspace, and also on merchandise such as T-shirts, badges, stickers etc.

It would really help you if you got a bit of a feel for our music, and figure out what kind of band we are. We're kinda heavy, but also very melodic, and we like to rock out a lot on stage. Our myspace page is www.myspace.com/nohopeastronaut so have a listen and try to think what kind of logo would be appropriate.

The band name is (No Hope) Astronaut. We're very open to designs, but we don't really want to play on the astronaut theme too heavily. If you can think of something really cool to do with it though, show me! We're also debating whether or not to have the brackets in the name, but we're leading towards keeping them. I'm really not sure what to expect from this, but I've seen a lot of logo designs round here I've been really really impressed with, and I'm sure I'll find something I like.

$30 will be paid to the winner by PayPal, I'll be very active in this thread providing feedback and help to designers. Thanks in advance, best of luck to everyone.

Thanks for the entry DaveyBoy. It's a bit too... country for my liking, doesn't really suit our style. Another thing I would say is that the brackets aren't really clearly brackets enough. For anyone else posting an entry, showing me two logos with and without brackets would be brilliant.

 

No worries, I was trying for a goth-y style but then I realised you're not goths just a heavy sounding band lol. I'll give it another bash when I get time! Cheers.

Thanks for the entry, ATF. I really like the colour scheme and the font, but I'm not really sold on the tree - it looks quite nice, but it makes us seem a bit... I dunno, evil? Would you mind showing me a few more similar designs?

One with the N and H in capitals.
One with all letters lowercase.
One with the brackets removed and all letters lowercase
You could try a different thing istead of the tree if you'd like? (I'm not completely counting out some kind of subtle astronaut reference)

This might not work, but it would be good to see. Thanks again for the entry, I look forward to seeing lots more from people

Addicted to Fate's design is great - really catches the eye I reckon.

Cheers Istvan - despite the fact that you got our name wrong, I almost like it, but not quite...

I prefer the top one, could you show me one without the brackets, and with everything a bit closer together? Also, I think it might need something else to it rather than just that text.

Ok, I like the new text, but I think I prefer it on one line. In fact - could you show it to me like the top one, but without the treble clef and lines? And with the 'A's, could you show me one where they look more similar to the rest of the text, and one where they are the same?

I'm liking this design a lot more now. If it's broken down to a simple design, we could maybe add something subtle from there?

edit: In fact, I'm also open to playing around with the bottom star one, if the design in the middle was smaller and maybe slightly different, but let's get the text right in the one-line design first
