$30 / $15 / $5 Logo contest - Simple company name

Here is the same icon, with narrower lettering.

 

Using the original text, playing with the icon to replace the 'a' in the company name. Personally, I think this works very well with the slightly extended tail overlapping the 'x', and still enables you to use the icon as a separate logo free from the text, if required.

Hello again guys. I'm extremely impressed by what you've done with the concept, and all the different takes on it makes this decision hard. I've come up with four finalists, whose entries will be compared by a group of people with different interests in the company who will together decide which one to go with. These entries are in my opinion all great logos, but with different styles, and it's now just a matter of deciding what type of logo suits the company the most - using graphics or not, preferred fonts etc.

So here they are, the four finalists:

I will try to get a decision ASAP, and my goal is to be able to annonce the winner on Wednesday. Thank you all for participating - you've been great! I will return to this forum in the future for coming design projects.

I'm finally back to announce the results.

As stated earlier, I'm very impressed by many of the entries in the contest. I had specified three prizes, but I feel that all the finalists should at least get something, so here it is:
