30,000 Uniques & 43 Million Hits Making Under $200??

This cant be right my traffic is through the roof and is increasing every month but adsense is decreasing. Is this a common thing with adsense?

Its maybe fake traffic? Do you know the source of the traffic?

 

yes well with a 5% CTR and a 0.15 cents per click average, 30 000 page views would give you $200. that's good. a lot of websites are getting much less than that.

 

Its 90% local traffic from DC MD & VA. The biggest site in dc besides gov sites.

 

Pageviews is in the millions

 

are the traffics relevance to your website ? i saw some post regarding optimizing your adsense campaign.. such as positioning the ads, color scheme, and so on.. may be you should check it out..

 

That seems really low, I'm getting more than that (not page views, but in terms of % of people that click ads). You should try different ad placement schemes and different sizes.

In the faq here they suggest that you place images above text links so that there's a story to go along with the links (increased the guys click throughs by 400%), although I've been warned that doing so is against the adsense TOS.

That's not that much traffic... most of my sites get much more than 30,000 uniques/month and they make the same or less from adsense.

Yup...I have that problem... when my traffic sky rockets, my eCPM drops to $0.70 cents and I make about $50-60/day (over 70,000 page impression and close to 1000 clicks on my ads per day)....

 

I'd say your ads just have poor optimization, though I couldn't say for sure without seeing the site.

 

Google Adsense going down and down for most people, it is rare for an increase for some !
