Should I buy a domain name that seems to be a good catch that has 3 words? Overall the total amount of letters is 8 letters please and thanks for the advice!
Nobody can give you a hypothetical opinion based on a maybe without any subject matter. And don't post the domain, because someone will steal it. Use your own business sense, or at least common sense.
No. My appraisals mean nothing. Just my opinion based on experience and what I have sold. I don't mind helping anyone, when I have time, (others have helped me, and still do so) I could be completely wrong, and could possibly over look an industry that I don't know about. What makes the web so challenging is predicting a possible future based on previous business experiences, different markets, emerging niche's, and untapped opportunity. You can't take a personal appraisal from anyone to the bank. If you could, I would be paying someone else to type this post while sitting on a beach in Costa Rica, sipping Margaritas (Probably around 24, short, bubbly, brunette, with a nice tushy) I'm just a guy with good mentors. A good rule to follow to know if you have a premium domain is, if the average person, (or people and businesses is a certain industry) cannot immediately identify your domain with a product or service, without being told what it means or what it stands for, you may have a good domain. IF you have to explain it.....it's anyones guess, and depends on the mood, the time, and the buyer. IF you have a keyword, but it is "jacked up" with a unrelated or gibberish word, it's not worth anything to most people. You have to take the appeal to the most amount of people or an entire industry. If you do not have that, then you are looking for a specific buyer, on the right day, when the planets are aligned perfectly with the sun and the temperature is exactly 72 degrees, to sell it for more than $xx. Either that, or Oprah has to mention it on T.V. I have not seen a newly registered domain (In the last year or two) worth $xxxx, ever. What do you think, Squidoo, Google, You Tube, MyBlogLog, Stumbleupon, and many others would be worth if they did not CREATE, their product and industry, had the multi million dollar marketing to go with it, and those industries didn't exist? It's hard to imagine, but they would be sitting in the Buy and sell area, starting $10 auctions. 90% of the domains out there for sale, will only be worth the website that is put on them. <edited> 95% of the domains out there will only be worth the website that is put on them. The other 5% are already owned.
The OP posted this in another forum (namepros), decided not to buy, and revealed the name to be 1 word + 2 abbreviations. mysatsig.com
