Just wanted to share my latest blog post with you guys, I hope you enjoy reading it. Twitter isn’t about how many people follow you, it’s about how you connect with the ones that do, what’s the point in having a huge following of thousands when they don’t care what you are tweeting about. You are better off spending your time trying to connect with your followers, trying to make them interested in what you post and most importantly converting twitter followers to website viewers! So how do we do this? It’s really rather simple but it’ll take time and effort to engage your followers so you need to be prepared for a bit of hard work! Here we go : 1. Reply, Retweet, Mention! Interact with your followers, there’s no point just tweeting, even if what you are tweeting is interesting, useful and funny, a lot of users will only read your tweets if they know you. So talk to people, if one of your followers says something interesting, reply, and better still reply with a question, hopefully they’ll reply back to you and you can start a twitter relationship with them. Retweeting is another way to get noticed, if someone retweets me I see it as a huge compliment so I’ll often remember their name or say thanks, which can spark a conversation. Don’t be afraid to start the conversation either, admire one of your followers? Ask them a question, compliment them, say something they’ll struggle to resist replying too! 2. Be Careful What You Post! No one likes a moaner, if you are having a bad day keep it to yourself, you don’t want to get a bad reputation for being negative on social media, don’t be overly positive either. It’s okay to criticize but do it in a constructive manner. So what should you post? Keep your tweets interesting, provide value to your followers, ask questions, be friendly and get to the point, which isn’t too hard on twitter! Share funny photographs, interesting videos and useful articles that you find and enjoy yourself and most importantly share links to your own website or blog. I always share my newest blog posts on twitter and it gets me a lot of traffic and because I am providing value my followers appreciate the links. 3. Be Polite and Join In! If someone tweets you or sends you a direct message have the decency to reply to them, even if the follower doesn’t seem like a big player in your field or what they say doesn’t interest you. You never know what could happen in the future, right now they might be a nobody but in years to come they could be someone you want to be in contact with. Twitter has many little quirks, one of them being Follow Friday - It is a chance for everyone on twitter to share those people who inspire them and encourage other twitter users to follow them too. Just use the #FF hashtag and explain why you enjoy that users tweets, often they’ll reply to your tweet or return the favour, it can get conversation flowing or gain you more followers! I really hope you enjoyed the article guys, any feedback would be appreciated, just don't be too mean
You have a good information above Retweeting someone else’s content is an act of kindness, and forthe most part bloggers like to return the favor. You shouldn't expectsomeone to re-tweet your content just because you retweet theirs.Just keep in mind that your chance of being on the other end of are-tweet increases as you retweet. Retweeting is all about providing value to your followers so if youwant others to retweet your post then you want to make sure thatyou are providing them with quality content worth tweeting about.
Thank you for the great insight. I also want to add to what you have! By this time, the knowledge of how much power social media has when it comes to promoting and growing your business, has been drilled into our minds. Meaning, if you want to succeed and excel in the business world, then social media is without question, necessary. What we don’t hear enough of, however, is how to exactly engage and interact with the customers effectively, and the importance of it. Well, fellow business men and women, twitter is your new next best friend. According to Statistics Brain, there are over 554 million registered active users on twitter and every day, about 135,000 sign up. While this is great if you got 554 million people to follow, at the end of the day, as Kevin Chapman says, “Twitter isn’t about how many people follow you, it’s about how you connect with the ones that do”. It’s the same principle as quality over quantity. It’ not about reaching large numbers on your profile, but rather the time you invest in trying to connect with your followers Strategy: Be yourself When interacting with followers, it is important to always be consistent in the tone that you use. Everyone has their own style and right tone that works for them. Stick to it and it will make business life a lot easier Strategy: Pay attention to what you post Content is one of the secrets to success. You want your customers/followers to trust in you and your business. So, what is the message you are trying to get at? When sharing information or what is on your mind, think again. It is always a smart thing to keep in mind the type of audience you have on twitter. Also, try to switch it up alittle. It doesn't always have to be something educational. Strategy: Say Thank You It may seem really simple, but people love when they are acknowledged. That validation may also even encourage more enthusiasm and loyalty to your business. Cultivating an attitude of gratitude creates good connections Strategy #5 Don’t Limit Yourself to One Community (Forbes) Hampton of Notebook of Love said, “It’s about finding the right people to create the right content that resonates very well. I train people on creating highly resonate content, and then they can use that information along with their specific expertise and knowledge to create compelling content for that account’s followers.” When used properly Twitter is the essence of what it means to be social. Learn to be a social butterfly with groups of people that you are normally not used to. Follow these strategies and you too may be generating as much engagement as the largest brands in the world.
Samsom, I totally agree, especially with your second strategy: "Pay attention to what you post", its very easy to set your twitter account on auto pilot and let programs post for you, but its SO much better to be authentic in what you post.
This is one of the best and most comprehensive comments with advice that I've seen on the forum. Great writing voice as well. I really appreciate the research that went into this comment - so many people comment pretending to be all-knowing without checking sources. Thank you - and great Hampton quote!
