Is there any evidence (not anecdotal theories) that the situation below is considered bad by search engines. If siteA links to othersite and othersite links to siteB AND siteA and siteB are on the same web server and C class IP Code (markup):
I'm in this situation. I have 2 sites hosted to the same hosting provider (the same IP). This sites are health related, one is about massage therapy and the other one is a health directory. When someone submit a link in my directory, which is a reciprocal link directory, then must to add a link to my site about massage therapy. This is a 3 way link exchange, and I don't think is a bad thing for search engines.
