3 Way Linking: Pros and Cons

I tried to search for 3 Way Link topic in this section but I didn't find anything relevant to what I want to discuss. So...

What are the pros and cons for this kind of link building strategy?

I recently subscribed to such a service and my first website was declined. It was a test website to see how the system works. Now I' tempted to subscribe a very valuable website but I don't want to bring any "bad karma" on a long run. So now I have two options:

- Either subscribing some niche websites that will link to my real websites without any possible damage (that makes a 4 way linking).
- or risk a valuable website to be penalized.

I also suppose that if you start building links using a paid service you're sticked with them forever because you don't want all of a sudden to have all the links pointing to you removed from their network.

I know it's a solution for lazy people or for people that do something more important in the meantime but is it really worth this technique to build popularity?

The problem with 3 and 4 way links is exactly the same as 2 way links.

You have to GIVE a link to GET a link.

And since the number of outbound links is part of Google's algorithm to determine your position in SERPS, you need to keep your outbound links to a minimum.

What you want is ONE WAY inbound links from high quality, very relevant sites with good pr.

 

With the 4 way link system is not really the same. I don't mind if my niche sites give links to get links as long as they also give me one way true links.

So let's say I have 50 sites in a 3 way link network and they get a nice ranking. I can also monetize them with adsense to at least cover the link service cost. But the real benefit would be to put front page links on these sites to one or two valuable websites in the same niche. That's the way I was thinking about the 4 way link strategy.

3 way linking, in theory, is ideal. The problem is keeping track of all of these three way deals. I'm not a fan of linking services and would suggest good ol' notepad

I'm a blogger, and I try to write decent enough articles that someone will quote me and link to the source. I've picked up some pretty good backlinks just from random readers linking to a quote. So the key is what you've heard before.. write quality content and the backlinks will come naturally - just like Mrs. Google likes it.

 

So how did you first promoted your blogs? That's the key question when you start doing offsite seo.

 

How did I first promote my blogs?

Every way you could possibly imagine - comment posting, ppc, t-shirts and bumper stickers, forum signatures, etc.

 

I can not find any "cons" in 3 ways link exchange. They are totally natural.
