3 way linkbuilding good or bad?

I was searching the web and i found an article about 3 way linkbuilding.

    This is what it says:

"Anyone trying to make you perceive that three way link exchanges are the "new one-way links", has misled you, because that's not the case. This type of link building is an exaggerated version of reciprocal link building. Anytime a site is being reciprocated, even if there's a third site involved, it still remains a reciprocal link. People are moving away from the two-way reciprocal links, despite them having more benefit than three-way reciprocal links."

So what are your opinion about this?

I think btw that if the site that give the link is also an good and highly relevant site it doesnt matter.

    Greetings Erik

Well, I know this is false. Two way link are not more beneficial than three way links in any way.

The problem with two way links and three way links is that Google's SERP ranking algorithm takes into account how many outbound links you have. That means that you want to try to build more inbound links than you have outbound links. And with 2-way and 3-way links, you have to provide an outbound link in order to gain an inbound link, so you're not making any headway.

That's not to say they are completly worthless, but they are very heavily discounted.

What you want is good, one way baclinks on quality, relevant sites.

I read an article the other day about one way links. They are the best links to get if they are surrounded by content that is relevant - like a web 2.0 prop or an article.

One way links are the best to get, regardless of whether they are in content or not. If they are in content, even better. But one way links not in content are still better then reciprocal (2 or 3 way) links.

Not like a web 2.0 property. Usually links you get on a social media property will be NON-relevant, and will not have any PR or traffic. These aren't great links for linkbuilding.

Totally disagree. Three way linking for someone creating less than 10,000 is so far below Googles radar screen. If you have multiple sites for three way linking it would be very hard to detect.

The permutations are too large for a discernible pattern.

The best links are surrounded by relevant content such as a 100 plus word article. I provide these for a cut rate price of $5 an article.

3 way link building is pretty good if done right. Having properly targeted links to relevant pages between then will help.

All of the three way link opportunities I have seen are not good as the site suggesting usually-always suggests the following.
"Please place a link to my site (pr3, 4) from your site (pr3, 4) and I will place a link on my other site to yours and google can't detect it."
What they fail to tell you is the site they will place a link to your site from is a pr 0, maybe 1 and if you look at it you will conclude it is just a link farm thrown together for the specific purpose of gaining outgoing links to sites that unsuspectingly fall for this 3 way b.s.

You get an inbound link of a pr 0 or 1, you give an outbound link of a pr 3 or 4 to his site of pr3 or 4. How do you like those numbers? Beware how many outbound links you have and their pr, how many inbound links and their pr and finally remember that unless you keep a very tight rein on those "reciprocal" links you will find that your link is taken down soon or perhaps left as the site that is giving them to you does not matter to the webmaster who offered it as it is not his/her primary site, just a junk link site. I am sure not all 3 way links are done this way, only the 500 or 600 I have been offered. One of my competitors farmed this 3 way plan out, he has a pr 5 site, offered me a pr 1 site exchange for my 4 pr. I still don't know why I didn't accept. IMO don't waste your time, concentrate on quality 1 ways!

I think IP address is the key to three way links. If the two websites in the same IP address are invloved to other websites, the robot will detect it .

Both 2/3 ways linkbuilding is good if you don't make the links site wide.

I have found it easy to find recipical link resources for 2 way links but if 3 away linkbuilding is good what is the best way to establish or find 3 way link partners. Any ideas?

This is a somewhat more complicated system than other link building methods, but it is also the most effective of them all and worth whatever it takes to set up. It also has the advantage of being accepted by search engines, unlike the other link building methods which are no longer being calculated into the results of a search.
Sure three way link building is good but what about 4-way link building?
