Rather than explain how 3 way linking works I will just say this.... DON'T DO IT!

Google has caught on to 3 way link exchanging and is penalizing the websites that participate

You need quality ONE WAY links to help propel your websites to the top of the search engines

    Hello Mamu,

There are tons of services that will create 3 way link exchanges for you, just do a search on Google for "3 way links"...

Warning: Do not use 3 way link exchanges! :)

A 3 way link exchange works something like this: I link to you, you link to him, he links back to me, like a circle.

The ideal is: I link to you, you link to him, he links to someone else...

It used to work really well until, like everything else, spammers took advantage of it and it lost its value.

If you do it on a very personal level with very relevant sites on a low scale, it will add some value to your site.

If you use a 3 way link exchange service it will detriment your site.

Try to find services that offer one way incoming links to your sites, that's the safest way to go, and if they want a link in return, offer to link to a different site that they own so it's not a link exchange per se.

    I hope this helps...
    Charles

Yes, running a lot of sites in various niches increases your chances to 3 way link exchange with someone.
I avoid such exchanges with a strangers, because it soon becomes quite a mess and some webmasters are just not honest.
But if you have a few good friends with dozens of sites then you can benefit a lot from a 3 way link exchanges.

Besides the very valid warnings Not to do the 3 way link mambo, take a close look at the three way link offers. they almost always suck.
You like to site A with your pr 4 or 5 sites. Lets say you have a widget site and so does site A. Sound OK until you see who is going to link to you! The site that is going to link to you is an unrelated site that has a pr0 or maybe pr1. You get hosed in addition to how google looks at these largely shady link schemes, or suggestions depending on your point of view. Some of the link suggstions are down right laughable. One email I get says that due to stringent spam guidelines they can't divulge the url or name of the linking website so I should agree to the link in advance? What is up with that? Stay away from them IMO

Never heard of Google penalizing for 3 way link exchange - makes little difference compared to 2 way link exchange. It is a way more effective means of a website promotion.

Well I cannot believe that 3 link exchange is banned from google only because of it. May be can be banned because of organizing from some network

Stay with one-way links and only get links with qualiry sites that practice good SEO skills. For my sites I normall only obtain PR4 and up oneways and will usually link to any pr7+ i can find.

I did 3 ways and my pagerank dropped 1-2 months after I did it. I removed the links and my site went pack to PR4.

Anyway one-way links are great. 3way is bad in my eyes.
