Hi, We are planning to start a 3 way link campaign using a PR3 directory we own (on a server in the USA) and finding sites in our niche and placing a link to them on our directory and then asking them to link to our main site (a 3 way link). Do you think this is an effective method for building links? Does Google detect and this and penalise? Anyone got proof of it working on a site? Or are one-way links the only way to go now? Thanks
Google can detect 3 way links, but you won't be penalized unless one of the three sites is a "bad neighborhood". They don't carry the value of a 1-way link, but they are still worth something. I would only go through the trouble if the three sites are related to one another. Also, multiple links from the same IP count for less than a single link from a unique IP, so the most you would gain is one backlink for each domain.
How can Google detect 3 way links? I think if you want to swap links 3 way link exchange is the only way to go.
Its quite an easy algo as I can figure it so google obviously can...Just wondered if google would penalise for it. Do google view "link building" as against there TOS?
How? Site 111.111.111 links to site 222.222.222 Site 222.222.222 links to site 333.333.333 Unless sites 1 and 3 are on the same IP or interlinked...
You can find a pattern... Easiest way to grasp it would be draw it out with dots and you will see everything links back to site 1 and 3... Googles algo can work it out I'm sure...
It was far easier to get dugg than to facilitate those silly 3 way link sites. One of them costs $5.00 a month. Once you get going you realize no-one clicks on those links. So not worth it, little traffic if any.
This is how it naturally works at each and every site. You always link to someone and some other person links to you, so you are always 222.222.222 person. I can't see how Google detects when it is made on purpose.
In three-way Linking, the websites that participate receive One-Way Links. Now a days, Search Engines rank those websites higher that receive One-Way Links.
Yes but if lots of site 1 are linking to site x who link to site 3... I'm sure this can be found using an algo? No one else agree?
If the sites involved in three way linking are by no means connected to each other and obviously on different servers and diff IPS's Under diff names (Yes Google itself is a registrar, and can pick out.. but thats a mannual process) then the link made out of such a process it not detectable. But if the sites do have a connection..they can be traced out.. easily.. So before you do, simply lookout for the site where your link will be placed.. and the site in question.. I do three ways sometimes.. worked pretty well for me.. Should help somewhat, but like always excess of everything might harm..so stay alert with that..
Three way linking is better. It can provide the link for all three sites. but if all are of same industry it can be more beneffecial for the site.
well apple, this should help you..: http://ezinearticles.com/?Three-Way-Link-Exchange&id=236178 Regadrs LKS
I think 3-way-links are same story as repocial links. It is better to take 5 site and link them randomly, without any patern.
