What is the 'secret sauce' for attracting hordes of visitors to your site? Try these 3 highly underused methods and let me know your results (I think you'll be surprised...):

    #1 Giveaway sites

Right at this moment, there is a giveaway site somewhere across the Internet that is bringing in some server-crushing traffic. Here is how giveaway sites work: you submit a gift, together with other entrepreneurs in your niche. Everyone promotes the site, and leverages off each other's combined traffic generation power. The result: everyone wins and gets a ton more traffic for free, and builds a huge list of subscribers to their ezines. Willie Crawford's recent cooking themed giveaway is an example of a giveaway site.

    #2 Video sharing sites

Video sharing sites (especially YouTube) get millions of visitors each day. And smart entrepreneurs leverage off this traffic to increase their visitor rate. How you can make YouTube work for you: create a tutorial video with your URL advertised at the end of it, assign keyword tags to the video, and post it on the site. If your video is great, it will have a viral effect and can receive thousands of visitors within a matter of weeks.

    #3 Social networking sites

Social networking sites is another "hotbed" of Internet action at the moment. MySpace and Facebook are currently among the most visted sites on the Web. The way smart networkers use social networking sites is by building a friends list full of interested prospects, and creating a relationship with them by posting informative bulletins, a free ezine, blog posts and videos. Never try to sell on social networking sites; instead, create an informative ezine that pre-sells your subscribers.

Well I wouldn’t call these methods underused anymore; there have been a lot of discussions about social media sites and video sites / blog.

So if people want to get into these without choosing a specific niche, they will see some competition

And I would prefer to see those 'competitors' as a sign that the niche is actually making some money. :)

Has someone got unusually good results through promoting your site through Youtube?
I got my site link displayed on the video. The video is really popular and has even managed to get quite a few embeds. But, I have hardly had any visits to my blog because of that. Or is it that I am not using the right method to track the visit?

As I see it, people can have success with those kind of site, some have, I just mean to say, it was easier when there wasn’t a buzz about it.

Now when people are talking about all over, there are so many sites like this, some good, a lot with bad quality, and only the once with good quality and a bit creativity will survive.

if you slap up a site within 2 hours, cross your finger and hope to succeed, you might get disappointed. It demands hard work, with design as well as promotion

With all those promises to succeed, stories on the internet, it’s a good thing sometimes to be a bit skeptical on things, before jumping in with both legs.
