I disagree with the part about having to have 15 pages of content, as I have done it with only one, so it really depends on your niche I think, or something else that we just may not know about, as we all know how google is, and we will never know exactly how they think or work, but I have done it recently with only one page of content, so don't let that hold you back from trying, but like geeks4share says, don't get pushy about applying, as they could completely reject you, so it is best to not take the chance....
Hey Herbalguy, Do you know that google treats Chinese, Pakistanis and Indians in a different manner? Websites created by people belonging to the nationality I mentioned before are under different rules and are not let into google search and adsense easily. "15+ pages of content" is strongly required for Chinese, Pakistanis and Indian Websites, not for all.
There really is no need to submit your site to search engines. I've heard of no evidence that it actually will speed the process up, and in my experience it's a waste of time. They will index your site on their own, and it could take as short a period of time as a day, or it could take much longer. Your site isn't going to get rejected from the major search engines just because you don't have much content. Just one little measly "under construction" page can get indexed by most search engines (If there are exceptions, I've never encountered them. Directories however will typically reject under construction pages, and sites with little, and/or poor content.). Directories however, can be worthwhile to submit a site to, as they do not have spiders to crawl the web for new sites (though sometimes the people involved in running them will look for new sites).
hey toplink, Not only native language websites, all websites are treated differently. Because google finds there are more fraud activities(Fraud Clicks in adsense etc etc) in these country.
OK. Now I see your point. A few people not doing the right thing spoil it for the rest! I had the same problem trying to get a visa for my brother in law to visit us on holiday. No chance. Because too many people from his country overstay the visa. Just using that as an example to illustrate how a whole country can get a bad reptation because of a few bad apples.
Toplink, you are right. Too many people became eager to earn money from adsense, but when they face failure due to less traffic, they start to click their ads by themself. This happened a lot in these Asian countries, thats why google is very careful with these nations, and so, started to deal them in a different manner.
