I don't think SSL certificate is important, as about 98% of the websites are blogs or have NOTHING in common with payments!
landing page visibility also matter. if you got rank one and your page layout is not managed you will get customer drop. i saw so many website who is having better rank but low conversion.

3 things to consider irrespective of the year! 1. Your website - make it beautiful (for users & SEs) (make your website search engine AND user friendly and please DO make sure you've a responsive one! now that we've various screen sizes.) 2. Decide onto your target audience (directly proportional to the product/service/info your website is offering) 3. Make genuine efforts to reach out to your users/consumers/audience & provide them something More that they're looking for. Provide them something extra & useful. I think if anybody who considers these 3 things and work towards executing them, will have no problems whatsoever if it were year 2050!!
What about a new website? How to be ranked on Google? One thing is creating excellent content, sharing it on social media, and be constant. But if you have no readers it is impossible to rank on Google. How can someone get natural links if the website is new? The only possibility is guest posting or buying patrocined posts or something like that. Private blog networks still work?
