3 SEO Methods to Avoid

SEO is not as complicated as what most people think, because there are a lot of things that you can do in order to get better results from it. However, there are also a lot of things that you need to avoid in order to be sure that your search engine optimization campaign will be successful. If you want to get better results when using SEO, you need to make sure that you are going to avoid three things:

    1. Automated SEO Software
    2. Spam Links on Unrelated Sites
    3. Spun Content

All automated SEO software does is mimic human actions. If you sign up to a social bookmark site and submit your link how is that any different from an automated piece of software doing the exact same thing, clicking on the exact same buttons as you do as a human?

Anyone that claims automated software is what gets your websites banned is a complete idiot. Automated software does not get your website banned, stupid people that don't know what they are doing get their websites banned. The problem is automated software is so powerful and qucik at what it does people over do it.

On top of that they read the sales pages of software like senuke x and expect to just be able to get miracle rankings but they have never done anything themselves manually so dont fully grasp or understand the software they are using.

All automated software does is what you do as a human.

Spam links on unrelated sites are generally a bad idea to point at your money site, but they make fantastic tier 3 and 4 links when you need to build them in the millions.

    Oh dear.

Spun content is amazingly effective when done CORRECTLY

The problem is most people are lazy and make a real mess of it.

Here is how I spin content-

    1. write a 500 word article
    2. For every sentence I write 3 alternative sentences
    3. I then go through every word and phrase manually by hand spinning in alternates only where it makes sense
    4. I then spin in/out related images and videos at random (and even spin the arrangement of the html elements)
    5. I also spin in/out related contextual links to other websites
    6. I also move the links around, sometimes they are in paragraph 1 and 3, sometimes just paragraph 2 and so on

When I output one of those spins I have a unique 500 word article complete with related images, videos and links that makes total sense and would pass any human moderation.

Here is how people that claim spun content doesn't work spins content-

    1. copy/paste article from ezinarticles
    2. press the auto spun/replace everyones favourites button
    3. insert a link to their money site

Then those people are surprised when their sites get penalised or the rankings dont improve.

To the OP, I cant believe you write a blog that teaches people how to SEO, serious /facepalm /headdesk moment

Do you guys actually have any idea what the Penguin update did????

It has nothing to do with spun content, automated software or spam links.

What Penguin did target was OVER OPTIMIZATION

    This includes-

Over optimised inbound anchor text profile (to many exact match keywords etc)
Over optimised on site content (keyword stuffing/high keyword densitys)
Over optimised internal linking (same as point 1 but internal to your site)

That it, that is all it targeted. I have data from a few sites that were hit compared with around 25 sites that weren't hit and the common factor between all of the ones that got hit, was there exact match inbound anchor text percentage was above 60%.

All of the sites are ranked with spun content and automated software.

Even if you didn't use spun content and did everything manually if you had 50% of your anchor text as 'blue widget' and 50% as 'blue widgets' you would get hit by penguin.

It has nothing to do with anything else other than over optimization.

Is SEO getting harder or are people getting more stupid? I'm gonig with the latter.

After Google Penguin Update it is advisable to avoid keyword stuffing and artificial or unnatural back links.

    Dear,

Automated SEO Software - The reason why use of automated SEO programs is not advisable is because these programs are only meant to build links. I won’t care whether the links are placed on related websites or not.

Spam Links on Unrelated Sites - Link building is a vital part of any SEO campaign, and you need to make sure that you are going to get your links from websites that are related to what your content is. For example, if you are going to talk about real estate on your website, you need to make sure that you will be placing your links on a website that talks about real estate.

Spun Content - This is probably the worst thing that you can do if you are going to do SEO for your website. Search engines are focused on the quality of the content, and how can you expect your spun content to have good quality? Again, it all comes down to the belief that building links at will is the best way to optimize a website. But the truth is that you need to focus more on creating new and informative content that will provide everything that your readers would like to read.

Every black hat SEO technique should be avoided.
Specially spamming of links and duplicate contents on the website.

You should also avoid to make a number of links for one or two keywords. Try to use 30-40 targeted keywords to avoid Google's hammer.

3 SEO Methods to avoid are:
    1) Duplicate Content(Never Copy/Paste the content from somewhere else)
    2) Black Hat SEO techniques. for example: writing your content in the color that matches your background color, in a way that it is not visible to fool the crawlers. there are many more such techniques that one should avoid.
    3) Too much linking. because it is now-a-days considered as over optimization.

You can use all of that but you need to know how to do that ;) I think noone use only White or Black SEO, everything needs to be Grey to get results.

I beg to disagree on the 3rd method to avoid. I still believe that content spinning still works. I myself is an article spinner (very deep spinning) and have great success on all my SEO campaigns.
