I have some more comments for you kain, so I'll tell you what I think, but you don't have to do it until tomorrow when I will end the contest. If no more good submissions have been sent until then, then you will be the winner, and we can discuss those details. It would be great if you could do them now of course, but it's not required as you are currently winning the contest already without them :)

    Here we go:

I like the way you combined the colors - I don't like the new lime-green that you used. Did you choose that because the other green didn't blend in nicely with black? I think it would be best if we had a clean, minimal, mainly white design, with some green and a little bit of black. In other words, here is what I suggest:

Remove the black from the top area (title and email support) and all the way down to the menu items. Make the menu items white with a greenish background for the active item like you did for in http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/9629/futonbedsalehomepage2.jpg for the active content tab.

Place a search box at the right hand side of the menu bar.

For the featured categories - keep the heading black like you did, but use a different color for the fonts. If the old green doesn't work - consider an orange. Whatever color we use for the background and the fonts of the heading, I would like to use the same one for the fonts and the background color of the 8 categories. Also, remove the NEW from the images on the categories.

Use that same background/font color for the Featured Products and Best Sellers headings. In the small pics for the Latest products, products, trying using the NEW and see if another small heading like that could be added horizontally for the price. The reason I say that is that I don't know how to write fonts diagonally, while I know how to do it horizontally - that is why I showed you the example ;) Maybe having NEW AND a price would be too much, but I would like to see it.

The image slider needs a little bit of work, but it's all minor details so we can discuss about it when the contest is over if you win.

The content tab looks great - I would just like you to add the title of the article on the tab AND in the content area. Put the content on the left side of the frame, and then on the right side, where you have the products, I would like you to add the name of the product, the list price (with line through), and our price (possibly with bold red fonts) below the image of the products. Keep the NEW for those.

For the footer - I like it but I would like you to put the About | why choose us..... above the copyright.

I think that's all! Good job!

Nice entry - but too many colors, and very boxy like you said. Do you mean to say that the end design will be 3Dish if chosen?

Also, everything that you've done until that red horizontal line that divides the top part of the home with the content frame is fine but everything below that red line seems like it was rushed through. Actually, the part with the visit our store and HOT SALE also needs work - but I like the footer.

I don't know... overall, I don't mind the design and I really like the fact that it's direct and straight to the point! Maybe it just doesn't look great because it's very boxy like you said. I would try changing it up a bit to make it look a little more serious and less "fun" (that could potentially be done by changing the colors around a little) and also make at least parts of it non-boxy so that I can at least visualize how it would look at the end.

Nice work! Now, the whole site looks very nice to me except from the top (the header + menu). It just doesn't look comparable to the rest of the design... I am not sure what needs to be changed, but we can work on that after the contest. We will also need some work on the image slider. Can you try putting some orange and some baby blue in the design. Not sure where but I feel like it got too black/dark and I'd like it to be more light. Maybe try changing the headers - maybe white fonts with royal navy background like this:

    sellers.jpg

Or same background (royal navy) but orange font color?? Try it and let's see how it looks! Also, I would rather have the main part of the site cover the whole width - maybe with some shadow... I mean, instead of what you've done here back.jpg you could try and make the width almost 1000px but add some shadow on the right or something like that... Not sure if that will look better - I just feel like it could help.

One thing for all of you - the product images are all square (height = width) so keep that in mind when designing.

NICE! Just when I thought that the contest was nearing the end.... you guys made it tough for me. Well, we need to make a few changes in your design but I really like it. First of all - maintain the 1000px width like I said. That's very important.

Add youtube to your social icons.

Also, you need to add some sections. I would like to display 10 Latest products, and have the 8 featured categories somewhere with images and the titles of the categories.

In the content tab, you need to add more tabs - I think it's 7 total - and display products with prices in there too... just make it so that 4 products are displayed on the right hand side of the content frame... next to the text.

I would also ask you to add a best sellers image rotator, but in this design the product in the top could be rotated, so that could be the best sellers rotator....

Make those changes and let's see how the end result looks ;)

    Nice work though!

    Hi, here is my revision,

    http://i736.photobucket.com/albums/xx5/vashadesign/futonbed2.jpg

For the width, I just measured it to 1000px for the design. Let me know if there is still an issue with the width.

Main Header, I added slider thumbnail for rotation feature.

For the latest products, I decided to make it 8 to make it look less crowded. I also change the categories into simple text sidebar since the tab content already had pictures too.

Let me know your thoughts. :)

I have designed mainly based on elements that is already available on your current website so that it looks more realistic. While designing I have also kept it in mind that your site is based on WordPress and you 'll need to integrate it there.I have extensive knowledge of wordpress/ html and if you need me anytime when coding the site I am available.

This is a basic design layout.Web 2.0 effects (use of shadow, shine and rounded elements) can be given easily if you like this design. Its also true for any modification you want me to do on it.

Thank you everyone for taking place in this contest. This was one of the toughest contests I've ever had to judge.

    Some words for each entry:

We started with d-zel - his entry was ok but he kept many of the original elements of the site which I was trying to get away from. He then submitted another version that was a good one, but still lacked in terms of the professional e-commerce store look that I wanted.

Kainraziall then submitted his entry, and when I first saw it I thought that he would be the winner. I gave him my comments and he followed them to the letter. I liked the design so much that I even started re-coding the site in order to implement his theme. I was almost certain that he would be chosen as the winner, but I decided to wait a little longer just in case anybody submitted something even better.

Then came Ardianet. I personally thought that his design had too many colors and would confuse the visitors, but I kept it in mind and asked him to try and use less colors and make it less boxy. I could see a lot of potential in the design, but he probably got busy with something else and did not submit a revisited version. It is worth noting that out of the 10 people that I asked to help me with a decision, two of them said that Ardianet's design could be the best in terms of "pushing the customer to buy". In other words, yes it looked messy, but it really emphasized the prices of the products and how good they were.

VashaDesign joined in after that with a design that I personally liked a lot. I thought it was much cleaner and more minimal than the rest of the designs. It was overall a very nice entry and could have potentially won if the competition was not that fierce. Very nice colors and clean structure! He then submitted a revision, and it was better than the first one, so he was definitely up there - but maybe his design just lacked that extra something to make it pop out!

That was when I received an entry from Arbrox. Arbrox entry was simple, yet elegant and it had all the elements I was looking for. It didn't strike me as the winner when I first saw it - it seemed too simple - but it was the top choice for most of the people who I consulted. I asked him to make several changes and he did end up with a BEAUTIFUL design at the end. I even started asking him whether he would be able to design the other pages tonight, thinking that he would probably win the contest.

As I was discussing some timelines with Arbrox, Sasanko submitted his entry. I was stunned! Sasanko's entry was the most professional of all before him. He used pictures from the actual products site, unlike most of the other entries, and he even edited them to make them fit the sizes that he was using. Very good use of colors and creativity! On first sight, I thought - he just made it so much harder for me. I had almost made up my mind after putting a lot of thought into this, and then I see this?! It didn't even hit me when I first saw it, but now that I see his post I realize that he even designed the site while keeping in mind that it would have to be implemented as a wordpress theme. He is truly a designer that knows what he is doing, and puts a lot of thought into his work in order to deliver "more than a design" as he said.

As you can see, I was torn between Arbrox and Sasanko and I have finally made up my mind. I put each of the two designs next to each other and tried to think while they were in front of me. The bottom line was this:

While I think that Sasanko's design LOOKS better, Arbrox's design would, in my opinion SELL MORE. And for that....

Arbrox is the winner of this contest!

Thank you SO MUCH for all your entries!!! I will definitely keep your usernames handy and will let you know as soon as I need more design work!

    Best of luck!
