Hi All, Can the experts tell me how much are 3 letter Domain Names selling for these days ? I've bought one at a regular cost yesterday and thought I'd check in this forum. Thanks for your help. -SJ
depends on many factors three letters? or a combination of letters and numbers? I've been offered hundreds for one of mine NLL.com pronounceable? .com? age of the domain blacklisted anywhere? associated with anything cool? NBA.com would sell for more than NBZ.com
Hi there, Thanks much for responding. 1. It was actually associated with a brand earlier, just hoping that I get it as it has been expired for 40 days, and hasn't been renewed. 2 letters + 1 number. Still not mine yet but will be getting it as long as the earlier owner doesn't renew it in the next 2 days. 2. Its .net domain 3. Age is around 5 years 10 months 4. No question of blacklisting at all. 5. Yes as I said, it was associated with something pretty cool. Thanks Again.
Sounds like quite a find - however if the brand is still being sold you will have to use the domain for something other than it's original use otherwise you will infringe copyright. Take the NBA example. You wouldn't want to put up any kind of basketball info, I'd avoid sports altogether. Instead find something else that NBA could stand for like National Business Advocacy and put up content for that - and then on sell as quickly as possible.
I'm happy to be a part of this forum. Thank you for your advise, I shall do the same or probably sell it as it is assuming that the new buyer will know what needs to be done on it
Hi Sarah, I got hold of the domain name finally. Any help & insight will be appreciated. Can I pm you ?
That turns this into an appraisal thread rather than a discussion on the value of 3 character domains. Yours, fwiw, doesn't look like anything special. The number spoils it, however if someone had the marketing expertise and the right concept for a site they could make it work. It is hard to find that person so if you are selling quickly you'll find you don't get much for it.
not even the reg fee ! you can expect a mid/low xx only if the three characters has some meaning (acronym for some game ...etc) !
Domains are priced on an individual basis. Can't lump them all together. NFL.com is obviously worth something. OMI is too since it is pronounceable. But XZQ is probably not easy to use. There is also the TLD. Can't answer the question except to specific domains.
I`l tell you how it goes.Hes gonna be lucky if he finds someone who would pay $5 for it.Actually LLN are cheaper than NLL .net.You want me to list all the LLN availble?And most of them are better ones. 7fn.net 1eh.net 8ru.net 5yv.net 0qk.net 3jh.net 0ex.net 0yj.net 7qb.net 6ld.net 0ug.net 9xg.net 0ob.net xq2.net di4.net nf9.net uy0.net ul9.net oa0.net ob4.net mk6.net ob7.net zd4.net
i think its funny, as I own i4u.biz, which I think is worthless, but some moron on sedo wants $10k for the same name with a differnent tld. The scary thing is he might just get it as there is no shortage of fools that think its a great investment. I would pay for one that is useful, like short and easy to remember, but it has to be priced appropriately. As far as the value of 3 letter TLD's go, tell me, since 2000, how many new TLD's have come into play? Ok, so how many can we expect to see in another 13 years time? Kinda makes it pointless fighting for something that is garbage simply as it is short.
